Workshop Supervisor

About the role

Our Brisbane branch is currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor. To assist in maintaining our fleet of modern Equipment.  This role will be accountable for ensuring the daily safe, efficient & effective serviceability of our rental equipment.

Reporting into the Workshop Manager, this role would ideally suit a hands on, qualified diesel mechanic (or similar) with previous supervisory or management experience. 

The key responsibilities of the role include

• Provide day to day supervision of workshop staff ensuring safe practices are maintained.
• Management of all aspects of the Fleet Servicing area
• Work closely with Workshop Manager to monitor service reports and action as required.
• Liaise with operations to ensure priority work is completed in accordance with requirements.
• Ensure mobile staff are utilised as economically as possible.  
• Ensure all staff, customer and suppliers' interaction is carried out in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ensure all preventive maintenance and repairs to Rentco Fleet of vehicles are carried out to the best possible standard in accordance with directives from the Workshop Manager
• Actively ensure all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety are adhered with.

Skills and experience

• Diesel Mechanic (or similar) qualifications
• Previous demonstrated experience as a supervisor from the transport or logistics industry preferable
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work with and adapt to people from all different backgrounds
• Experience and understanding of budget management
• Knowledge and practice of OH & S Standards in a similar environment

Seeking a positive enthusiastic motivator to supervise a small team of approx. 12 mechanics & trade's assistants in a Truck and Trailer workshop dealing with hire fleet.

This role will be to support and report directly to the workshop manager and workshop planner.
