About the role

We are seeking an experienced Baker and Pastry Chef to join our team at Cru+ Bakery Lab' in Hawthorn East, Victoria. This full-time role will play a crucial part in the creation and production of our high-quality artisanal baked goods.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing a variety of breads, cakes, pastries and other baked goods to Cru+ Bakery Lab's exacting standards
  • Mixing doughs and batters, rolling out and shaping dough, and operating commercial baking equipment
  • Decorating finished products with frostings, glazes, and other garnishes
  • Ensuring all work areas and equipment are clean, sanitised and well-maintained
  • Collaborating with the Head Chef and Bakery Manager to develop new recipes and product innovations
  • Adhering to all health, safety and food handling regulations

What we're looking for

  • At least 2 years' experience as a professional baker or pastry chef, ideally in a commercial bakery or restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety protocols
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Creative flair and a passion for making high-quality, artisanal baked goods
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills
  • A team player attitude and willingness to learn and adapt
