MC Road Train Driver

Stanes Transport is a locally owned an operated family business in Alice Springs. Everyone is treated like a human, not ‘just a number’. We have an exciting opportunity for an MC licensed driver to join our team.

This position is definitely not line haul. We travel majority of the time on unsealed and dirt roads. It will give the right person the chance to see and experience parts of Australia that are not visible from the highway. 

To fulfil this role, you will need to possess:

• An MC Driving License with experience driving triple road train is a must have. 
• Forklift license or the ability to obtain forklift license.
• Previous outback and remote operating experience advantageous but on the job training will be provided to the right candidate
• The ability to complete a fit for work medical, criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening to enter mine sites
• Mechanical and welding experience (advantageous) 
• Ability to spend some nights away from home each week
• A willingness to learn new skills 
• Must be fluent in English, both reading and writing   
• Willing to relocate to Alice Springs NT
   

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• unloading and loading freight 
• driving different combinations from single to triple road trains on different types of roads
• delivering freight to remote areas of NT, WA and SA
• delivering freight to mine sites
• customer service 
• truck/trailer maintenance duties 
• delivering all freight in a safe manner 
• warehousing/yard duties 
   

Drivers who have held a HC drivers license for at least 12 months and wanting to upskill, are encouraged to apply. 

The position is suitable for someone based in or relocating to Alice Springs.
