The Company

J C Smale Engineering has been operating since 1962 providing global services in engineering, manufacturing and machine building solutions across a number of industries. We are a proud Australian owned business with many large and interesting projects underway and in the pipeline. We are now seeking an Apprentice Fitter and Turner to be part of our team and to share in the success of our company.

Role

You will be exposed to Fitting and Machining on a large variety of machines and equipment from a range of industries. The type of work includes:

Develop an understanding of Engineering drawings working to set tolerances and finishes
Conventional manual and CNC machining
Maintenance, Refurbishment and New build Fitting
Local site work with the potential for interstate travel as projects dictate
Site service work on existing equipment including conditional monitoring and preventative maintenance
Fault finding and rectification works
Safe work practices / OH&S essential to all work
Work with and learn from professional experienced tradespersons

Candidate

Australian resident
Mechanically minded
Good attitude, hardworking and a desire to improve
Able to work as a member of a team
Ability to adhere to systems, procedures and policies
Decide what you make of it; opportunities for those with the right attitude and work ethic
