Truck Driver

About the role

Freight Link Couriers are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This full-time role involves the safe and efficient delivery of goods across the region. We are currently expanding and looking to meet customer demands within the region locally. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive their freight in a timely manner.

What you'll be doing

• Operate MR to HR vehicles to deliver freight to businesses and residential locations locally
• Liaise with customers, dispatch and management to ensure seamless delivery
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle logs
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies
• Report any issues or incidents to management promptly
• Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles as required

What we're looking for

• Valid Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) license
• Ability to perform safe lifting actions as required - eg, cartons, tyres etc 
• Proven experience as a commercial truck driver, preferably in a courier or logistics role
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of road rules and safety procedures
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically fit and able to lift and manoeuvre freight as needed
