Spare Parts and Technical Sales

The Company 

J C Smale Engineering has been operating since 1962 providing global services in engineering, manufacturing and machine building solutions across several industries. We are a proud Australian owned business with many large and interesting projects underway and in the pipeline.  We are now seeking a likeminded individual with relevant experience and / or qualifications to be part of our team and to share in the success of our company.

 

Role

You will be working as part of our spare parts, sales, logistics and purchasing department. The role supports and services a large variety of machines, equipment and spare parts from a range of industries. The type of work includes:

• Process, monitor and drive sales and delivery of all spares
• Business development for both existing and new customers
• Work with Project Engineers and Drafting department, when needed, to address your enquiries or jobs as the primary customer contact
• Support Project Engineers in project delivery
• Provide technical insight to customers and for internal process improvements both directly and working with the support of the broader technical department
• Quoting
• Work as part of and closely with the Store & Purchasing department 
  • to control cost, quality and delivery of supplier materials
  • to control packaging and shipment of goods
• Supporting and driving the company culture through positive input, professionalism and attitude as a valued and important part of the team

Candidate

• Strong written and communication skills to build and develop relationships
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to talk with authority on technical details
• Pride in your work and reputation with a respect for quality and a desire to impart that on others
• Appreciation of cost to business
• Ability to recognise, prioritise and delegate duties and tasks to achieve the best outcomes
• Proven skills and experience for the role including industry knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Computer literacy skills; email, word, excel, basic CAD and ERP systems
• Able to work as a member of and lead a team
• Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of empathy and good facilitation skills
• Understanding of OH & S matters
• Discretion in all dealings
• Ability to work with little or no direction
• Planning and problem solving
• Act with integrity
