An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic team player to join our team as a Print Operator. In this fast-paced and varied role your key responsibilities will ensure all elements of job production including file pre-flight, design, print and finishing meet procedural and quality guidelines.
The duties of this role include:
Manage all aspects of graphic design and composing as per client specifications using appropriate computer software.
Pre-flight all files received prior to being placed in production.
Provide solutions and resolve file problems that do not meet FBDMS standards
Carry out file transfer to large and small format RIP devices
Complete small and large format print processing
Ensure quality and customer satisfaction by accurate machine set up, test copy and proof verification, carry out of continuous in process checks for appearance, quality and job specification.
Manage storage of electronic data on FBDMS network. Carry out cleanup and maintenance of production file area on server, archiving of old files
Set up and process variable data files and print.
Reconcile all paperwork/reports to ensure accuracy
Conduct housekeeping and routine maintenance in accordance with CBT level achieved.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of machine logs and process logs
Prioritise POD and quick turnaround jobs
Complete shift logs at the end of the shift
Liaise with Customer Service on any issues with production
Other duties as directed by the Team Leader or Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 2 years Print background
Experience with Digital Print equipment, preferably Xerox
Understanding of Xerox Free Flow an advantage
Formal qualifications/study in Graphic Design/colour print an advantage
Additionally, you will need:
Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
Advanced computer skills with understanding of Adobe Suite, Imposition plugins, Microsoft Office and, Variable Data tools
Good organisational skills, ability to multitask
An eye for detail with an obsession for accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to problem solve and follow set procedures
