About the role

Perfmet Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabricator/Sheet Metal Worker to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling a wide range of high-quality metal products, from architectural metalwork to industrial components.

What you'll be doing

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate and assemble metal products with precision

• Operate a variety of metalworking machinery and equipment, including cutting, bending, welding, and finishing tools

• Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety protocols

• Collaborate with the design team to provide input on fabrication processes and suggest improvements

• Assist with the installation and on-site assembly of larger metal structures and components

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all relevant safety procedures

• Welding stainless steel , aluminum and mild steel materials. Prefer Tig experience.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a metal fabricator, sheet metal worker, or in a similar role within the trades and services industry

• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

• Excellent skills in operating a range of metalworking machinery and tools, including CNC machines, welding equipment, and hand tools

• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills to overcome challenges and find efficient solutions

• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade)
